LOGARITHMIC CONNECTIONS WITH VANISHING p-CURVATURE

چکیده
We examine logarithmic connections with vanishing p-curvature on smooth curves by studying their kernels, describing them in terms of formal local decomposition. We then apply our results in the case of connections of rank 2 on P, classifying such connections in terms of self-maps of P with prescribed ramification.

We prove some results about the vanishing of the elliptic genus on positively curved Spin manifolds with logarithmic symmetry rank. The proofs are based on the rigidity of the elliptic genus and Kennard’s improvement of the Connectedness Lemma for transversely intersecting, totally geodesic submanifolds.
